32 Card Draw Poker is increasing in popularity across Europe and is now available to be played at Devil Fish Poker.  Only the top half of the deck is used, (7-A), which results in a lot more big hands such as full houses and quads.  All these big hands causes a lot of fast paced action, which makes 32 Card Draw one of the most exciting poker games around. 

There are some rule changes.  The ranking of hands is different than in regular poker, with a flush beating a full house and certain suits being more valuable for flushes than other suites.  There is also an option to offer to split the pot.  Also, (A,7,8,9,10) counts as the lowest straight in 32 Draw Poker.

Overview
32 Card Draw looks to be an exciting form of poker.  I’m definitely going to try it out this Thursday after I play my weekly Devilfish Bounty Tournament.

Earn 14,200 VIP points to earn an entry into the €2000 buy-in, Irish Poker Championships on Jan 2nd.
Earn 37,500 VIP points to earn entry into the $10000 Aussie Millions.
Earn 54,000 VIP points to earn entry into the 2009 World Series of Poker Main Event!!

There are a ton of tournaments to earn entry into and you have plenty of time to earn your VIP points.  There is no monthly minimum so you can build up your VIP points whenever you have the time.

Overview
This is an amazing promotion, as any player who plays online regularly can surely earn enough points within the time frame to gain entry to a live tournament somewhere around the globe.  For example the Irish Open is in April and only requires 25000 points.  Thats less than 5000 points a month, which is very doable for any regular player.

Overview
This is a good €500 added value tournament, with the chance to take out Europe’s biggest pro, Dave “the Devlfish” Ulliot.  If you were planning on playing some poker Thursday night anyways, this is probably the best value online at this time for this buy-in level.

Overview
This is a great promotion for everyone.  Added value tournaments are a great way for average players to build their bank rolls.  The €6.66 freezeout basically has 100 players who have already lost before the tournament begins, thats how a money added tournament adds value to the players.  These sinday tournaments are every Sunday at Devilfish Poker and are a great promotion for the middle stake multi-tournament players.

DEVILYMPICS

The Olympics are starting this Friday and I am starting to get excited.  And if you’ve realized that I don’t mean the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, then give yourself a pat on the back.  What I’m excited for is the DEVILYMPICS!  17 nights, 77 tournaments, and a combined €20, 000 money added!  How can I not be excited. 

The action gets kicked off Friday with the Devilympics opening ceremony (tournament), which is a €1000 freeroll that includes a €250 bounty on the Devilfish himself.

Then there will be 5 events per night for the 15 straight nights of the Devilympics, and each of these events will have €100 added to the pot.  Here is the daily schedule of tournaments in EST time:

€10 Freezeout – 1:30pm EST
€5 Rebuy – 2:30pm EST
€10 Freezeout – 3:30pm EST
€5 Rebuy – 4:30pm EST
€10 Freezeout – 5:30pm EST
****All tournaments have €100 ADDED!

Each final table earns points towards the final leaderboard standings.  The points are as follows:
1st (GOLD) – 10 Points
2nd (SILVER) – 6 Points
3rd (BRONZE) – 4 Points
4th-9th – 1 Point

The top three finishers at the end of the Devilympics earn the following prizes:
1st (GOLD) – €5000
2nd (SILVER) – €3000
3rd (BRONZE) – €2000

 

My plan for the two weeks of the Olympics is to sit on the couch watching some quality sporting events, while having my computer on my lap playing in an Olympics of my own: the Devilympics!
