FTOPS IX

Monday, August 4th, 2008

So, FTOPS is back again on August 6th, and once again they are hyping it to be the best ever. And would Full Tilt lie to you about something like that? Of course not. This FTOPS is once again building off its successful predecessors with more than $15 million to be won over 25 events.

These 25 events include every kind of poker Full Tilt offers, as well as every type of tournament. This includes stud, Omaha, razz, HORSE, limit hold ‘em and of course many types of no limit hold ’em tournaments such as shootouts, six handed, heads up, and more.
The two big events that will be getting the most attention through this FTOPS are once again the $2500 – 2-day – $2 Million Guaranteed hosted by Patrik Antonius, and of course the massive FTOPS XI $2.5 Million Guaranteed Main Event on the 17th of August. To play in the main event it will cost you $500 + $35 or you can win your way through one of the many, many, many satellites that will be running.

Once again the popular Satellite Challenge promotion will be in full swing, with players trying to win the most satellites to any particular FTOPS event. The player who wins the most seats to an event receives the T$ equivalent of two more buy-ins to that event and second place receives the equivalent of one more buy-in. I have found that certain events just aren’t tried for that much, so this year I’m going to try to find an event that isn’t sought after, and go for the win.Wish me luck :D !

I will be trying to win my best satellites over and over and then use the T$ to play in as many FTOPS tournaments as I possibly can. I’ve played in a few FTOPS tournaments in the past and haven’t faired too well, so I’m thinking I must be due. (ha the gambler’s fallacy at its finest :P )

Doyle’s Room Bounty Tournament

Monday, August 4th, 2008

The World Series of Poker has come to an end. The pros have all gone home after a long WSOP. Now this may seem like a sad time for poker players everywhere. But it’s not. And I’ll tell you why. It’s because Doyle Brunson, Mike Caro and Hoyte Corkins are also back to their regular routines, which includes the Doyles Room $27.50 Wednesday night Bounty tournament!

The Bounty tournament is back after being put on hold for the World Series of Poker. This means that every Wednesday night at 9:30pm Doyle, Mike, Hoyte and other pros are putting a $500 bounty back on their heads and challenging you to take them out of this grand tournament. Each tournament, Doyle and two of his friends try to hold on for dear life as the entire field attempts to claim their $500 bounties. These bounties only begin at $500 though, increasing if you take out more than one pro. If you have the tournament of your life and manage to earn a second bounty you win $5000. Then if the impossible happens and you somehow manage to knock out all of the pros…left, right and center…you win a whopping 25K.

I’ve been playing this tournament for a while now because it’s the best value you can find in a tournament on a Wednesday night. And this is just because of the $1500 added to the pot in the form of the bounties. But for someone who has never attempted to knock out the poker legend in this great tournament, you are in for an awesome surprise. Doyle is so convinced that you will enjoy his poker room and the tournament so much that he is letting you play your first Bounty tournament for FREE.

That’s right, I couldn’t believe that myself and was a little skeptical ……. actually very skeptical……..thinking there must be a catch, because how can a poker room afford to give everyone a free $27.50 tournament. Especially when there is already $1500 extra in bounties. My skepticism quickly changed though when right after I busted out of the tournament I went to the Doyles Room website, filled out the refund form and just like that I had the $27.50 back in my account. At this point I thought to myself that this could be the best new player promotion at any poker site.

I want to let everyone know that they would be crazy to pass on this free tournament. There really is nothing to lose, and everything to gain. The prize pool gets very large and there is always the chance of knocking out a poker legend…. but if you are thinking about collecting one of those $500 bounties you’d better bring you’re A-game, because if there is one thing I’m sure of… it’s that Doyle won’t hand his over without a fight.

Welcome to NewPokerPromotions.com

Welcome to NewPokerPromotions.com!!  I have made this site because I’m a big fan of promotions at all poker sites.  I really enjoy playing all the poker series at the various sites and taking advantage of special offers.  I look more at a sites promotions than at it’s initial deposit bonus when deciding whether to register at a new site, because promotions keep on giving.  An initial deposit bonus is great for the first little while, but promotions are what really keep me interested, and keep me playing at the site over a long period of time.

I’m a big fan of limited time promotions as they get me pumped up to play poker again, and to take advantage of whatever the site is offering.  Whether it be money added tournaments, extra player points, exclusive freerolls or a poker series with leaderboard prizes!

So at this site I will be letting you know about which promotions you should really take a look at, as well as how I am faring at many of the series and other promotions taking place.

Hope you enjoy!
